Dirty Laundry, work in progress, 2016
NOTES | DIRTY LAUNDRY
Shame is the voice that says you’re not good enough. Women experience the pressure to conform to thinness from a very early age (5 years old and earlier according to research by Laura Rowe in her recent book Girl Up), ‘Dirty Laundry’ draws on the legacy of negative self talk. Anti-affirmations are printed on tea towels, an everyday domestic object and reminder of the pernicious nature of negative thinking.
